How it works
Practicing 10-80-10™ is useful whether you're prompting an LLM or creating an agentic automation.
First 10%
Take a few minutes, think about the goal at a high level. What are you trying to achieve? Who is it for? What does "success" look like? Any constraints?
Write that down. That's your brief. You decide what matters before the model decides for you.
Middle 80%
Now hand it to AI. Have it draft, analyze, organize, or generate options. Test it. If the output is off, adjust and iterate. You're steering the ship. The model does the work, you set the direction.
Final 10%
Now slow down. Review the output and actions taken. Check facts, fix the tone, remove anything that feels off. Then decide if it's ready, needs more work, or shouldn't be used at all.
Again, your judgment comes into play, protecting your organization from devastating errors.

First 10%
